The Magick of Temple de Luna

I knew when I first started my natural skincare brand that I didn’t want it to be just another run of the mill skincare company. I knew I could create incredible products, skincare that truly works and delivers what it says it will… but I also knew it could and would be so much more.

If you’ve read my Skincare + Witchcraft: A Curious Combination blog, then you’ll know I’ve been infatuated with all things mystical, occult and spiritual from a very young age. Paired with my skincare obsession, I knew that the two combined would create something incredible.

YOU are the altar

When it comes to magick, you can have all the tools, cards, candles and rituals that you like, but these are simply that - tools. We are the true magic, as is our energy, our bodies being vessels and altars that carry us across this earth… we are literally the altar. Which is why what we put on our skin matters, not just in the sense of ingredients, but also from an energetic standpoint. Each ingredient and packaging vessel has been on its own journey, passed through many hands, energetically picking up who knows what along the way. As our skin absorbs the products we use, it also absorbs these energies.

Integrating magick to your day-to-day

When it comes to magick, manifesting and working with energy, it’s not about elaborate rituals, performative work and what you feel like you “should” be doing. It becomes a part of your everyday, little parts of your daily routine where you add intention, a bit of magickal flare and presence. I’m a huge advocate of a skincare ritual vs a skincare routine and find that using products that align with my values, belief systems and understanding of energy and manifesting only adds to the magic, intention and the potency of a skincare ritual (even if it’s only 5 minutes long!).

Start small, try taking a few extra seconds before applying your favourite products to take a deep inhale of of your palms, breathing in its scent (I love doing this with my High Priestess Serum as its scent is so relaxing and soothing). Maybe you have a favourite herbal tea blend, make a cup and bring it with you to intentionally enjoy throughout your skincare ritual. Or, try pairing each step of your ritual with an affirmation that supports your dreams and goals. It really is as simple as integrating small steps into your day to experience more magick in your life.

An invitation to slow-down

Skincare doesn’t need to be another chore or tick off on the to-do list. It gets to be so much more. It gets to be relaxing; it gets to be slow and intentional. It gets to be ritualistic. This can be the case regardless of the skincare products you use, it’s your intention and presence that really make it count. So, I invite you to take slow down the next time you go to do your skincare. Try out some of these tips and really lean into what will make it more magickal for you.
